Hoy yo volé
a Vigo con el grupo de Newark Academy. El avión duró 50 minutos. Me dormí
durante la mayor parte del vuelo. Pero antes del vuelo, nosotros fuimos al
Palacio Real. Maestra fue nuestra guía y
tenia in micrófono para que todos la oyésemos a través de nuestros cascos. El
Palacio Real tiene muchos pinturas y tapices. Es enorme y muy guay! Además, hoy el Rey de España Juan Carlos va a dar un discurso del balcón principal
sobre su abdicación.
Today I flew to Vigo with the rest of the NA group. It was a 50 minute flight. I slept during the majority of the flight.
But before the flight, we visited the Royal Palace. Maestra served as our guide and she had a
special microphone so that we could all hear her through our headphones. The Royal Palace has may paintings and
tapestries. It was huge and cool! In addition, today the King of Spain Juan
Carlos will address the nations about his abdication from the main balcony.
Después
de visitar el Palacio Real, nosotros fuimos al hotel para recoger nuestras
maletas. Nosotros llegamos tarde. Esto
fue un problema porque nosotros necesitábamos ir al aeropuerto para coger
nuestro avión. Nosotros tomamos el metro
al aeropuerto con nuestras maletas. Al
llegar al aeropuerto de Barajas tuvimos que esperar muchísimo tiempo en la
cola. Casi perdimos nuestro vuelo. Maestra se enfadó con los representantes de Air
Europa que había dicho “no te preocupes” y abrieron las puertas otra vez del avión.
Desafortunadamente, Air Europa hizo un “overbooking” y dos estudiantes tuvieron
que quedarse con Señor en Madrid y tomar el próximo vuelo a Vigo. Air Europa le pagó a cada persona 250 € por el overbooking.
After visiting the Royal Palace, we went to the hotel to
pick up our bags. We arrived late. This was a problem because we needed to get
to the airport in order to catch our plane. We took the metro to the airport
with all of our suitcases. When we arrived in Barajas Airport we had to wait
for a long time on line. We almost missed our flight. Maestra got upset with
the Air Europa representatives that had said “don’t worry” and eventually they
reopened the airplane doors again. Unfortunately, Air Europa had overbooked the
flight and two students had to volunteer to stay with Señor in Madrid with
Senor and take the next flight to Vigo. Air Europa paid each person 250 €
for having overbooked the flight.
Fuimos
los últimos pasajeros en entrar al avión. A casi las 14h00 nuestro vuelo
despego de Barajas para Vigo. Cuando nosotros
aterrizamos en Vigo nosotros fuimos a coger nuestro equipaje. Nosotros no encontramos el equipaje del Señor
Gómez por eso Maestra McNeilly-Anta nos pidió que esperásemos hasta que ella
terminase una reclamación por la maleta de Señor. Por fin nosotros nos reunimos con nuestras familias
españolas. Yo encontré a Lara, su madre, y padre. Nosotros cogimos mi equipaje y conducimos al
pueblo de Arcade. Yo puse mi equipaje en mi habitación y después nosotros
fuimos a la playa.
We were the last passengers to board the plane. At almost 4:00pm our flight took off from Barajas
for Vigo. When we landed in Vigo we went to pick up our luggage. We could not
find Senor Gomez luggage so Maestra asked us to wait until she was done filling
out the claim forms. Finally, we meet our Spanish host families. I found Lara,
her mom, and dad. We grabbed my bags and drove to the town of Arcade. I placed
my luggage in my bedroom and we went to the beach.
Mientras
estábamos cenando vimos la Copa Mundial.
El partido fue entre Holanda y España. Holanda gano. Fue muy triste! Al
terminar el partido nosotros fuimos a dar un paseo. Nosotros caminamos en la playa. Por último,
nosotros regresamos al apartamento. Me
duche y después me fui a la cama.
We watched the World Cup while we had dinner. The game was
between the Netherlands and Spain. The Netherlands won. It was very sad! When
the game finished we went for a walk. We took a stroll on the beach. Finally,
we returned back to our apartment. I
showered and went to bed.
Mi
primera impresión de Galicia fue muy buena.
En Nueva Jersey la playa no esta cerca de mi casa pero aquí hay muchas
playas que están cerca de nuestra casa. Me gusta la playa y vivir tan cerca de
ella. Cuando yo llegue aquí yo no entendía mucho pero yo entiendo más español
cada día. Mañana, nosotros vamos a visitar
Pontevedra. Buenas noches.
My first impression of Galicia was great. The beach is not
near my home in New Jersey but here there are many beaches near by our house. I
like the beach and living near it. When I arrived here I could not understand a
lot of things but I understand more each day. Tomorrow we are visiting
Pontevedra. Good night!
