Today, the government of Spain canceled our visit to the Royal Palace because his Majesty King Juan Carlos was receiving the president of Mexico at the palace. As a result, Maestra McNeilly-Anta let us sleep in late and eat breakfast at 8:45am. We all appreciated this opportunity. Breakfast at the hotel was a huge buffet assortment of the following: meets, cheese, desserts, juices, fruit, and breads. I ate very well.
rush!!!!
After breakfast, we went to a supermarket called El Corte
Ingles for an organized activity. At the supermarket we had to find a variety
of popular Spanish and American food. We had to fill in a chart with prices,
where the groceries were located, how many varieties were offered, etc… and
then compare and contrast Spain and USA markets. Maestra told us that the group
who properly completed the task first would win a large Price. It was true!!!
After we all had completed and discussed the activity she purchased a bunch of
sweets and gave them to us. Can you say sugar rush!!!!
Para el
almuerzo, comimos en un restaurante muy bueno. El restaurant ofrecía comida
italiana.
Me gusto mucho.
For lunch, we ate at an Italian restaurant that was very
good. I asked the waiter for pasta with cheeses and sausage. I liked it a lot. We also played a practical joke on Maestra, ordered her a crepe and sang happy birthday to you!!! hahaha!!!
Luego,
Then, we
went to the Prado Museum. In the museum, they had masterpieces by Bosco, Velázquez,
Goya, and many other Spanish painters. Maestra explained several paintings to
us for example –The Garden of Earthly Delights.
It was magnificent. There were also art student imitating the master
paintings with the hope of learning more. I think this is a great was to learn
and practice art.
No hacia
ni demasiado calor o frio. Fue perfecto!
Finally, we
went back to our hotel to write our journals for the first time. We did this on
the highest floor enjoying the views from the roof top terrace. It was neither
cold nor hot. It was perfect!
